A portrait your family will treasure forever
Your pet is one of a kind. Their portrait should be too.
I paint every commission by hand using acrylic and oils — taking your favourite photo and turning it into something real, meaningful, and made to last. Every brush stroke is mine. Every detail is considered. No two paintings are ever the same.
Whether it's a gift for someone who loves their pet with everything they've got, a keepsake of an animal who's always by your side, or a way to honour a pet you've lost — this is something made with genuine care.

What clients say
I commissioned Alex to paint our Benny, it just arrived in the mail and it was instant happy tears. His likeness is unmatched and so is her talent. If anyone else is looking for a pet portrait, she's truly amazing!
Brooke, US
Absolutely love this personalized portrait of my dog, Stiles! Alex was great about sending updates throughout the process and really captured my dog’s personality. Thank you for this lovely portrait!

How It Works
The whole process is straightforward and I'm with you every step of the way. Here's what to expect:
Step 1
Choose your size
Pick the canvas size and whether you'd like a frame. Not sure? Just ask — I'm happy to advise.
Step 2
Send your photos
Share your favourite photos of your pet. I'll let you know if I need anything different and help you choose the best reference.
Step 4
I get painting
I'll keep you updated as your portrait takes shape. Progress photos available on request — or wait for the big reveal at the end
Step 3
Pay your deposit
A 30% non-refundable deposit secures your slot. I'll confirm your completion date once received.
Step 5
Review and Delivery
Once you're happy with the finished portrait, I take final payment, varnish the painting, and ship it to you tracked and carefully packaged.
Portraits typically take 3–4 weeks from deposit to delivery, depending on my current schedule. I'll give you an accurate date when you book.

Your reference photos
A good reference photo makes all the difference — and I'll help you choose the best one from whatever you have.
The ideal photo is clear, in natural light, and shows your pet's eyes well. Near a window or outdoors in soft daylight works beautifully. If your pet won't sit still, try holding a treat just above the camera to get their attention — it works a treat (pun intended).
One great photo is enough, but a few from different angles helps me understand their character better. I love hearing about your pet's personality too — their quirks, habits, and what makes them them. It all influences how I approach the painting.
If you're not sure whether your photos are good enough, just send them over and I'll take a look. I can advise on what will work and what might need improving before we start.
And if your pet is no longer with you — please don't worry. I'll work with the best photos you have, and I'll treat the commission with the care it deserves.
Packaged with care and delivered to your door
Every painting is packed by hand with the same care that went into making it. I wrap each canvas in acid-free tissue, then kraft paper secured with twine — and if it's a gift, just let me know and I'll add a handwritten note.
It's then boxed up with plenty of padding and sent tracked, so you can follow it all the way to your door.
UK mainland shipping is included in your portrait price. International shipping to the US is an additional £30. If you're elsewhere in the world, just get in touch and I'll look into options for you.

Frequently asked questions
Can you paint more than one pet in the same portrait?
Yes, absolutely. Multi-pet portraits are a popular choice and work beautifully. There is a small additional charge of £50 for each additional pet. Get in touch if you'd like advice on sizing for two or more pets.
Can you paint a portrait of a pet who has passed away?
Yes, and it's something I feel privileged to do. Memorial portraits are some of the most meaningful commissions I take on. I'll work with the best photos you have and treat every detail with the care it deserves.
What if my photos aren't very good quality?
Send them over and I'll take a look — you might be surprised. I can often work with photos that aren't perfect, and I'll always tell you honestly if something isn't going to work before we begin. I can also advise on how to take better photos if you're able to get new ones.
How long will my portrait take?
Most commissions are completed within 3–4 weeks of receiving your deposit and reference photos. I'll give you an accurate completion date when you book, and I'll keep you updated throughout.
How do I pay?
A 30% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your slot. The remaining balance is due once the painting is complete and you're happy with it. Payment is via bank transfer or PayPal — whichever is easier for you.
Do you paint animals other than dogs and cats?
Yes! I paint all kinds of animals — horses, rabbits, birds, guinea pigs, and more. If you're not sure whether your pet would work as a portrait subject, just get in touch and I'll let you know.
Is this a good gift idea?
It's one of the most personal gifts you can give to someone who loves their pet. I can include a handwritten gift note with the painting and package it beautifully. Many of my clients order as gifts for birthdays, Christmas, or as a way to mark a special occasion.
